Notes: Although he was of an age to have served in the later stages of WW1 we have no record of any military service. He must have gone out to Africa at some stage as his first marriage to Alice E Taylor at Blantyre in Nyasaland on 12 May 1925. Nyasaland ceased to exist in 1953 and Blantyre is now in the Republic of Malawi. He was married a second time to Elizabeth Funnell on 17 Sep 1950.
