Notes: Robert was usually known as Bob and was born at Polegate on 29 Sep 1893. During WW1 he served with the 4th Queen’s Hussars and was wounded in 1915 and subsequently had a lengthy stay in hospital. Bob married Gladys Waddams in 1921 at Ealing where he worked as a postman after the war. He is remembered as an excitable jovial man whose arm movement was restricted due to his war wounds.
