Notes: Betsy was born at Danehill on 1 Jan 1851 and never married. In 1871 she is recorded as working as a housemaid for Josiah Selwood and his family, a surgeon living in St Pancras. Peter King advised that she worked for forty years for one family, a Mr and Mrs Ayres in London. He was a barrister but I have been unable to locate her on the 1881 or 1891 census to confirm this. In 1901 she is staying with her brother Enoch in Danehill. After her retirement Betsy lived wth relatives and died at Cuckfield in Apr 1936.
