Notes: in 1861 she is still living at home in Danehill with her family. In 1871 and 1881 she is shown as a housekeeper for Francis Piggott a baker at 19 Princes Rd, Lambeth. She married Francis, who was thirty years her senior, in the Sep Qtr of 1883 at Lambeth. Apparently her long earlier liaison with Francis did not go down well with her strictly Baptist family. In 1901 they are still at the same address and by this time Francis is aged 86. Ruth’s younger sister Esther, a telegraph clerk at the GPO, is living with them. Ruth is said to have died about 1934.
