Christopher Fields. It appears that this property at Danehill came into the Langridge family through John Cranchester. Anne Langridge (nee Best) was remarried to John on 17 May 1660 after the death of Robert. They had no family. John was buried on 14 Apr 1687 and Anne on 22 Apr 1687, both at Horsted Keynes. There is a reference in 1731 that the property was held by John Langridge and by his father, John, before him. It can be deduced therefore that Christopher Fields passed from the Cranchesters to either William or John. It remained in the family until 1872.
