In 1841 (census) Mary (listed as Jane) is 13yrs old and living at Bu rn Oak, Little Stanmore, Middlesex with her parents & Siblings. Mary marri ed John Samuel Young between July & September of 1849 in Lambeth, Londo n. In 1851(Census) Mary is 23yrs old, she is living at Mean St with her Hu sband & Baby Daughter. Mary is Working as a Stay Maker (A maker of Corsets ), she is living Nextdoor to her Father who may have Secured better Employ ment for the Couple Because by 1861 (census) Mary & John are Master & Matr on of the Nuneton Union Workhouse, Chilvers Cotton, Warwickshire, Ma ry is 32yrs old, her Oldest Daughter is Visiting her Aunt Anne at the Fulh am Workhouse, where Anne's husband is Master. Mary & John have a full staf f, the school teacher is Mary's younger sister Ellen, whom she has named o ne of her daughters after. In 1871 (census) Mary is 40yrs old, she & her h usband are still Master & Matron at the Nuneaton Workhouse, their Daughte rs are living away from home. In 1881(census) 50yr old Mary (middle name l isted as Ann) and her husband are still Master & Matron of the Workhous e, they have a full staff & their Daughter Ellen is now the school teache r. By 1891(census) Mary & her Family were no longer at the Workhouse, th ey have moved in with Mary's Sister Anne and were living at 33 Crofton Roa d, Camberwell, London & are all living on their own means. Also at the add ress another sister Ellen. By 1901(census) Mary is 73yrs old, she is n ow a Widdow and is living at 65 Station Road, Camberwell she is still livi ng with her sister Anne and their sister Ellen is visiting them. Also at t he address is Mary's Daughter Ellen, her Neice Harriett & her Grand Nei ce Eliane.
